People & Purpose Foundation: Safer, More Inclusive Communities

A Website for a Foundation Born from Lived Experience

People & Purpose Foundation was started by two social workers, one of whom sustained a spinal cord injury in a road accident at a young age. CodingCafe built its WordPress site to explain work on injury prevention, road safety and inclusion, and to invite people to help.

About the Project

The foundation was registered in India in 2026 as a Section 8 non-profit by Jalaj Nagar and Lipika, both trained at the Delhi School of Social Work. Jalaj’s own experience led to a realization that drives the work: many spinal cord injuries are preventable.

Today the foundation runs workshops and awareness sessions in the Delhi NCR region, across schools, colleges, communities and workplaces. Its work covers injury prevention, road safety, disability inclusion, universal accessibility and workplace mental health.

Challenge We Tackled

A new non-profit has to earn trust from people who have never heard of it, and this one works across five connected causes.

  • Explain how road safety, disability inclusion and workplace well-being fit together without it reading as a list of unrelated issues.
  • Tell a personal founding story with dignity, not as an appeal for sympathy.
  • Speak to schools, employers and communities at the same time.
  • Give visitors something to do beyond reading.

Our Approach

We let the founders’ story carry the About page, then used it to explain why each focus area exists. The Our Work page gives each cause its own section, so a school looking for a road safety session or an employer interested in mental health can find their part quickly.

A blog carries the awareness work, with pieces on universal accessibility, spinal cord injuries, workplace well-being and India’s dash cam culture.

The site then gives people a way in, because awareness alone does not build a movement. They can volunteer, collaborate or contribute, and those who attended a workshop can share their experience.
